 Activities at The Château de Bagnols
Activities are available upon reservation only. In order to avoid a 50% cancellation fee, we kindly request that any cancellations/modifications are made at least 1 day in advance of the scheduled appointment.
Biking
4 bicycles for adults and 2 for children are available, free of charge, at the Castle.
Hiking
Different paths are accessible, through vineyards and small medieval villages, entirely built in golden stone. A detailed map is available at the reception.
Tennis
2 tennis courts are accessible, free of charge, in the nearby village of Frontenas, only 1km from the castle, racquets and balls are available at the reception or the hotel. A free shuttle service is offered to in-house guests upon reservation.
Golf
2 Golf courses are located in the surrounding area. Rates per player: 46€ on weekdays, 61€ on the weekend
Horse riding
A private 1 or 2 hour ride through the vineyards, with an English speaking instructor at the hourly rate of 50€ per person.
Horse carriage ride
2 or 3 hour tour in the Region surrounding the Château. A lovely way to discover the Beaujolais Wine Country!

The Château’s Chef will be pleased to prepare a copious picnic for only 55€ per person.
Hot-Air Ballooning
Unforgettable!!! A one-hour flight, over the Castle, as well as the surrounding Beaujolais Region. 360€ per person up to 2 people and 260€ from 3 and up to 22 people - weather permitting.
Wine tasting
In a private local cellar, directly with the wine maker: the wine tasting lasts approximately one hour and is charged 30€ per person.
OR
In the castle with an oenologist: either in the wine cellar or in one of the private rooms. Three different wines or Champagnes will be tasted, depending on your preference.

Local visits with a private guide
(Limousine or Taxi Transfers are not included)
Old Lyon, (dating back to the 16th century): have lunch in a traditional Lyon Bouchon (not included) and spend the afternoon in the Antiques’ district with a private guide (minimum of 3 hours required)
The Golden Stones Country: Beautiful tour through medieval villages built in Golden Stone and surrounding the Castle. A Beaujolais wine tasting in a private cellar can be arranged.
French food markets: Visit of traditional markets where typical local products can be purchased.
Visit of “Les Halles of Paul Bocuse” in Lyon: indoor market where only the most renowned and exceptional French delicacies and find foods are sold (minimum of 3 hours required)

For a 4 hours tour: 380€
Day Tour (9.00 am to 6.00 pm): 600€
Evening (7.00 pm-0.00): 450€
Extra hour: 80€
The Château’s Concierge will be delighted to assist you in making transportation arrangements with a Limousine or a luxury Taxi. Rates vary depending on the length of the tour and on the number of people.
